Inspired by the brutality of Francisco Goya’s ‘Disasters of War’ (Los Desastres de la Guerra) and the way Sophie Jodoin's War series creates tension with ambiguity and expresses despair with chaotic lines, 7/2 expresses the pain caused by the death enacted at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church shooting.
The title references the way which news broadcasters report mass shootings, "seven injured, two dead," as if the magnitude of a tragedy can be measured by a number.
